The story of the mural
Self-taught, Rdom started painting about ten years ago in Montpellier with the collective Les Bonjour. After five years away, ARTMADA marks his return: he came as a volunteer and ended up with a wall.
Living on a boat, he links the Caribbean with ships and sails; in Martinique, that heritage is the yole. Two figures steer a sailing boat together: the man is inspired by Toussaint Louverture, a symbol of courage and emancipation; beside him, as an equal, a woman. Both look in the same direction, towards a shared horizon. The ropes stand for the ties that bind us.
