The story of the mural
The last mural of edition #2, by Al Pacman. Born in Dominica and long based in Guadeloupe, where he revives neighbourhoods and runs the Just Graff It festival in Marie-Galante, he painted this wall in just three days.
In his grey-toned style, a gentle scene: the child is the new generation and the passing on of history; the mother is protection and love, today's diverse and creative Caribbean, her grip a sign of rootedness, her closed eyes of inner strength. Traditional-style tunics recall the bond with Africa, and lush flowers the beauty of Caribbean landscapes.
