The story of the mural
Jaddict is a multidisciplinary artist living in Martinique, working with textile customisation, collage and painting, between neo-pop and postmodernism. For ARTMADA #2 she made two photomontage-based collages.
This one celebrates Lyannaj Karayib, the bond between the peoples of the archipelago. A mixed-race little girl swinging high embodies a free, radiant Caribbean youth; the red circle stands for life force and fraternity, the star for hope. The blue wall evokes the Caribbean Sea: the ocean is not a barrier but a link.
